Both Helen Schucman (New Age) and Rick Joyner have been honest about the way they have received their revelations. Every revelation received must be weighed against Scripture and both Helen and Rick's visions fall short.
Albert S. Alschuler says Helen "heard The Course in Miracles dictated by her Voice, never knew how a sentence would end when she started. Once she took a break for 3 days. When she returned, the Voice began exactly where it had left off, as if it had been waiting patiently for 72 hours to finish the sentence. After three years and 944 typed pages, the first of three volumes was complete. It was published exactly as dictated, the only changes being divisions into subsections for readability, with the permission and assistance of the Voice." (p. 36 Interview With an Angel *Note: New Age book)
Rick says ".....Usually the visions where I was still conscious of my surroundings and could even interact with them, such as answering the phone. When the visions were interrupted, or when things got so intense I had to get up and walk around, they would immediately continue once I sat down again. One time the experience became so intense that I actually got up and left the mountain cabin I had gone to seek the Lord and drove home. Over a week later, I returned and almost immediately was right back where I left off in the experience." (p. 13- 14 Final Quest)
Comment: No Biblical vision was ever received this way....the way Rick receives his visions. Biblical visions do not have pauses where they stop and start up again like a video recorder. But the Bible does warn us that some visions are false. Let's look at what God said to Jeremiah about this:
"But I said, "Ah, Sovereign Lord, the prophets keep telling them, "You will not see the sword or suffer famine. Indeed, I will give you lasting peace in the place."
"Then the Lord said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds." Jeremiah 14: 13- 14
Comment: The key words from this passage from Jeremiah are "false visions." Who is giving false visions to Rick? Demons in disguise.
